Bank statement converter
Scanned bank statements to Excel
Paper statements and scans have no text layer, so they are read with OCR. OCR occasionally misreads a digit. That is why the result goes through the same balance check as a digital PDF: if one amount was misread, the totals do not match and you see it immediately.

How it works
Upload the scan as a PDF. Each page is read with OCR by Mistral AI, a provider based in the EU, and the table is rebuilt into transactions. Then opening balance plus transactions are compared with the closing balance.
Getting a good scan
Scan at 300 dpi in greyscale, keep pages straight and include the page with the closing balance. Photos work if the page fills the frame and is sharp.
