What the file contains
An OFX 1.02 bank statement: the account and currency, every transaction with its type, date, signed amount, a name of up to 32 characters, the full text as a memo and a stable ID, and the closing balance.
Import into Xero
In Xero, open the bank account, choose Manage Account, then Import a Statement, and upload the .ofx file.
Plain characters
OFX 1.02 predates Unicode, so accents and symbols are written as plain letters (Café becomes Cafe). Amounts and dates are not affected.

Questions
- OFX, QFX or QBO?
- All three share the same structure. QFX and QBO add the bank ID that Quicken and QuickBooks look for; for other software take OFX.
- Is my statement stored?
- No. It is processed in memory and discarded when the conversion finishes.
